Sex ased at birth question The next question in the survey is about the sex you were ased at birth. We had to find a different way of asking the question to make sure we did not exclude anyone unintentionally.
The way we deed the questions gave the additional opportunity to understand whether someone has transitioned to female or male. This is the first time we have ever tried to run a survey on this scale specifically for LGBT people. We have found new and unique challenges in deing questions that are understandable for anyone and inclusive of everyone. We would encourage schools that have met the requirements set out in the statutory guidance to begin delivering teaching from September Given the challenging circumstances presented by coronavirus COVIDschools that assess that they are prepared to deliver teaching and have met the requirements set out in the statutory guidance are frse to begin delivering teaching from 1 Septemberor whenever is practicable to do so ssex the first few weeks of the new school year.
Schools that assess that they have been unable to adequately meet the requirements because of the lost time and competing priorities should aim to commence teaching the new content no later than the start of the summer term sxe To ensure teaching begins as soon as possible, schools are encouraged to take a phased approach if needed when introducing these subjects.

Independent schools are required to teach personal, social, health and economic PHSE education.
Sex education at primary school is freee compulsory but can be taught if a school decides that it is appropriate to do so. All pupils should receive teaching on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender LGBT relationships during their school years.
Secondary schools should include LGBT content in their teaching. Primary schools are strongly encouraged, and enabled, when teaching about different types of family, to include families with same sex parents. Headteachers and teachers must read the statutory guidance in full. It contains information on what schools should do and sets out the legal duties you must fre.
Creating a policy for the free curriculum It is important to read the developing a policy section of the statutory guidance to ensure you understand what you need to comply with. All schools must have a written policy in place for the new relationships education and relationships and sex education curriculum. Policies are typically approved by the governing body, or the appropriate body if frre is not the governing body for example, the trust board.
